Having had some very good advice off this forum i am soon to be the proud owner of the Garmin 2610 complete with the bike bundle, bargin at £240.00. Being completly new to GPS I have a couple of questions. Is the mount you get with the bike bundle any good as I like the look of the Touratech ones however they are a bit more expensive and there are a few to choose from ?

What is the best way to power the GPS unit, auxillary socket, or hardwire it to the bike.

Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated :thumb .

Regards Gedjack.

i have hardwired my last 4 bikes.it only takes 20 mins tops.and leaves the aux free for what ever.:thumb
i use the tt mount.but any will do.as i never leave my 2610 on the bike when i cant see it,
u cant be too carefull.

Hardwired my Lockable Touratech Quest mount so I don't have to faff about taking it off to go and pay for petrol, or worry about the battery running out.
I wired it so that it only has power when the ignition is on.
