hello,gs'er
is there anyone that has fitted a tk3101 to their gs1200?

Hi Phil and welcome to the site.

This section is used for the introductions of new members.

there is a bike communications area in the Technical Section which would be a better place for your query :thumb2

Hi Phil

Welcome aboard the forum.

I'll move your thread over to the Technical Section. Good luck :)

There will be no room under your seat to run a Kenwood, it would need to be tank bag mounted or carried on person.

Why's that Rich? I ran a Kenwood TK3201 under the seat of my GS12. Is the TK3101 longer?

There is normally not enough room under the seat and the transceivers we have seen under the seats have been noisy due to interference caused from the bike.

The 3101's also are slightly bigger and run a longer more flexible aerial which fitted under the seat can cause aerial bounce where the aerial in touching the frame causing broken comms.

Running the Kenwoods away from the seats will give a clearer sound quality and also improve the distances between the bikes.
