Hello all,
I have a 2005 R1200GS ive had it from new and are very happy with it, however i do find on long motorway journey's i do suffer with the old numb bum syndrome, also i have been thinking about changing my screen ive found it the most comfortable at its lowest setting but it is a bit noisey if i duck about an inch its exelent would a taller screen be better for me? could any one recomend a good after market screen and seat?
You need to buy the large Airhawk seat which feels like you are sitting on a cushion of air (because you are) and fit a Tobinator to your screen which will give you the full range of adjustment across a greater area. I'm 5'11'' and these two mods worked perfectly for me. Good luck.

Sargent seat absolutely the dogs for me. Some have fitted 12GSA screens on their basic 12s with some success.
I'll be watching this one Paul i suffer the same thing, the wifey says loose some of the 16 stone i carry. Thinking of the sheep skin idea to see if thats any better,

Sargent seat for me too. The dogs bollox, or should that be bum :nenau
another vote for the Sargent from me. Be warned though, they're taking aaaaages at the moment, I ordered mine about a month ago and it's just about to arrive in the country apparently. I'm really looking forward to getting it.
Anyway, they're superb, had one on my last bike. £265 for the riders seat may sound expensive, but trust me, once you've got it and ridden 1000 miles, you'll think it's the best £265 you've ever spent.
Airhawk for me. Used last year for trip to Poland, 600 miles in a day across Northern Germany (dull but neccessary for timings), cosy comfy bum :D . Highly recommended. Just be careful if have short legs as does add height to already tall bike.
GSA screen for me, f'ing expensive and never worth the money. :spitfire And you really do need to add the Winglets to finish the job off.
Personally, I hate the look of the afore mentioned Winglets, and it is fair to add that it was with a high degree of reluctance that I fitted them, but they certainly work.
With the lot fitted, its 100% improvement over the stock screen.:thumb
Motorway speeds, cruising at around about a ton, no concerns at all. :thumb

I'm not keen on the look of the winglets, but, I do have them and they work a treat!
I'm not sure that the full expense of the 1200 ADV screen is really justified to be honest, I have the Wunderlich Ergo that is a very similar shape and size and costs less......
i have the supper dooper alaska sheep skin deluxe model long hair etc etc. looks really cack on the bike but very comfortable indeed

I did forget to add, I've just fitted Migsel's 25 mm bar risers, op kit and make a subtle, but very nice difference :thumb2
