Hi Chaps,

I have had the 2610 for about 10 months, it has been faultless & brillant to boot until today.

I went to a meeting this AM she worked fine, when I got back in the car to go back home etc the display came up looking for Sats etc then I noticed all the screen was black (daylight saving mode) plus she was searching for me as if I was at Garmins US head office near Kansas.

She could not find the sats and asked if I have travellend hundreds of miles from my last location, ie flown to the US, well obviously not, I told it I had as I presume that Garmins H/O is a default setting, and after a few minutes it found me in Reading & switched to daylight etc I plotted a route to see she was working and low & behold no problems, took me to the door.

My question is have I got a problem starting that I need to get sorted before the 12 months is up, or has this happened to any of you etc, what was the outcome, any suggestions or help as always appreciated.

Get it sorted ASAP, with luck they'll just replace it with a new one.

No, I'm saying that you don't have a huge amount of time left & that Garmin often replace faulty units with new ones as it can be cheaper for them in the long term compared to finding the fault, returning it to the US or Taiwan (where they're made?), repairing it & then returning it to you via various importers etc.

Not heard of this fault but I'm even newer to GPS than you, waiting on hearing if my Nav.II will be replaced or repaired at the moment.

Steve, ok thats for explaining, I have spoken to Garmin and they say its nothing to worry about, it happens sometime it just resests to the default setting.

Not 100% convinced, I am using a bit over the next few days so I will see how it goes.

If any one else has any ideas please let me know.

Cheers
