Rode over on Friday with Steptoe, Shapeshifter and James Burton. On the way we dropped in on my Mother-in law who lives in Mayo.

We found the hotel and settled in. The view across Achill Sound from the dining room…

During dinner this van appeared and blocked the view. It seemed we were in for some entertainment.

In the bar we got to see the man himself.

Beers got drank and tall tales got told.

So at half four we decided an early night was called for.


In the morning the ride out rode out without me, so when we saw a break in the liquid sunshine Fanum, Billy, Civil and myself decided to have a ride around the island. Burton decided to keep the bar propped up.

A few pics from our ride, I’m afraid nobody got one of my bike after I slung it down the road though.

Then it was back to the bar to find out what Burton had been doing. We found him publicising the raffle prizes donated by Tuned In…

After dinner we retired to the bar again.

We said our goodbyes and headed for the Wicklow Mountains on Sunday and found a nice hotel near Glendalough. Burton made the mistake of letting us see what he carries in his tank bag….

We found the pub and had a couple of beers before turning in for the night….
