My Streetpilot 3 is a dinosaur and the missus needs protection from speed cameras (having just been knobbled)

I need a portable sat nav (to swap between two cars and the bike) which is compatible with a MAC (if you have another Garmin in mind) and has a good mapping system and a speed camera site (all types) warning.

Recommend please.

Have a look at the Zumo 550 it does most things got one myself and not a bad price. Comes with all you need to move it from car to bike easily. It has an updatable speed camera alert and location indicator. The bluetooth facility is excellent and removes the need for any other form of handsfree. Bonus which I thought was a bit gimmicky but have been proved wrong is the mp3 player, luverly on the bike to have good quality music. Get a 4meg chip and it holds up to 2ooo tracks. Also announces street names and the postcode locator works. Recommended

I wouldn't rely solely on a GPS for speed cameras. I have been caught twice in the past 12 months and both times they were mobile cameras on the motorway (81 on an empty Motorway I ask you... ).

The Nuvo thing does look nice though and the MP3 is a great idea.

Don't the speed camera databases include common mobile sites? A mate told me that you can report these sites to the database for them to be included in any updates.

Heyup Gazza - long time no seeum.:thumb

mobile site locations are supposed to be prewarned/booked not sure if its daily or weekly warning.
