........Audi.

Just had my new cage delivered :D and paid extra for the "Audi Music Interface" so that I can connect my iPod to the stereo and see my song lists on the sat nav screen and control via the steering wheel controls.

The thing is, and I feel a "thieving b@5tards" rant coming on, the cable is extra!! Un-bloody-believeable.:spitfire

The second thing is, it costs £25 + VAT!:spitfire :spitfire

The manual says that a cable may be available from "specialist retailers" but no-one in Audi has the slightest clue as to the type of cable. Is it generic, is it specific to Audi?

Now, the £25 + VAT won't break the bank following the £200 paid for the interface on a new Audi - but I would like to have known beforehand and almost £30 for a cable is taking the p1ss!

Anyone have one of these and know if the cable is available elsewhere for the fiver that it is inevitably worth?

Don't argos et al do an ipod thingy that plays at a specific frequency for £20?
:nenau

i think the VW equivilant is either a specific apple dock or a USB socket, depending on what you order, so an ipod to USB cable as originally supplied with the ipod might be all you need :nenau

what does the socket on the audi look like?

Like this (best picture I could get in the confined space). Any clues?
