Possible oil leak ?

Hi I am checking out a 02 Dakar 650 to buy but noted that there may be a weep/oil on the under side of the engine around the drain bolt or banjo bolt for the oil line. Any ideas or suggestions are most welcome, thanks. I will have photos tomorrow.

walk away, any oil seepage is going to cost you in repairs. Engine repairs are pretty dear due to the confined nature of the engine

Is the chain over-oiled? Any excess chain lube will run down the case and drip off the sump plug.

Wot he said, mine does that.

Mind you, if the seller cant be bothered to clean it I wonder how well its been maintained ?

gtf, call out and compare it to mine. mine's always wet underneath from the scott oiler. does the dakar you're thinking of buying have one?
