Fitting a Tom Tom Rider to a K1200R

I have a Tom Tom Rider and mounted it to the GS using the a RAM handlebar mount and a diamond ball fitting to the back of the original Tom Tom cradle. This has worked fine for over a year now. The installation on the K1200R doesn't seem as easy though, with the restricted room available under the sports windscreen and the potential for the handlebars to foul it on full lock.
Has anyone else done this install and if so, what did they use?
