The lead into the ignition, does it simply pull out?

Hi all

Just trying to check the lead that goes into the back/bottom of the ignition switch (where the key goes in) as I was informed that may be causing my cutting out problems, wires worn or corroded, but do any of you know if that lead just unplugs?

The manual does not help at all unless I want to remove the whole thing which looks like serious work.. any suggestions please?
