Funnily enough I seem to start every report with an apology for the delay...
Well, this time my excuse is that I was too busy taking Possu into the bushes today...
... and making jam.
24 jars of Blackberry, Bramley Apple & Elderberry preserve...
If you are ever in Oxfordshire...
A glorious finale to an absolutely brilliant weekend. Ok, back to the start...
Arrived Friday night after work at Lumb Farm - great location (albeit a bit slopy...) with good facilities.
(Yes, the photo was actually taken on Saturday, but it fitted quite nicely as an introduction... Noel & Kerry in the left bottom corner)
Had a very enjoyable evening chatting to old and new mates and went to bed a bit later than intended...
Queuing up for breakfast on Saturday morning
My first attempt asking the fellow tossers to "look nice" for the camera. Almost successful with everybody... Is this the famous British humour, Thunder?
Gathering for the Off Road run - Liz, the brave lady who puts up with Flipfly day in, day out...
You are a lucky man, Phil. And you know it...
Contrary to his own forecast even our favourite hog-raoster made it to the event
Briefing at the start of the first lane
Jaber counting his sheep - 24 we were!
And everybody made it to the hilltop in one piece - Packer was chuffed
Lovely countryside you have in Derbyshire...
Oops, where are the other 21 riders?
Liz & Flipfly making themselves comfortable on the village square
While the others headed straight into the Queens Head Café. Lovely place - more info here
Squid, Packer, Wayne & Karl (l2r) looking as nice as possible...
Great service - the chef looks after his customers personally here
At some point we were all reunited again...
... and off we went. Baronlebon in full swing (a bit too fast for my camera...)
Zedzed smiling from one ear to the other
What a beautiful couple - Flipfly and Liz (Tuned In closing in)
Here they are again on the next lane
Sorry, didn't get the name of this fellow...
It's either my camera or me - one of us is too slow... The rider in front of Jaber should have been in the centre of this photo
Almost failed again...
Spout on his HP2
Wayne out of focus - same camera (or user...) failure here
Karl on his HONDA - followed by faithful tail end John
Gathering for a cracking downhill trail ahead
Let's see if I get the names right - left to right: Sid Horman, Flipfly, Robnob, Packer & Zedzed (phew...)
Did I mention the stunning countryside? Robnob certainly appreciated the view
Group picture on top of the world, err, the quarry...
Sure you have seen this from the other side...
Should really come up here more often.
Well, at the end of the day this is what it is all about with that off roading stuff...
Somehow we were down to 13 riders in the afternoon... But the rest was still looking nice
John, Jaber, Sid, MickDB1, Sorry & Packer
Baronlebon, Sorry2 (don't take it too personally... ), Squid, Karl, Wayne & Zedzed
And the heather was in bloom - what more can you ask for?
Thank you, MikeDB1, John & Jaber, for a glorious day on the trails! Great lanes and loads of fun! Unfortunately all the excitement seemed to happen behind me, this is why there are no 'real' action photos here...
Back at Lumb Farm the sky was still incredibly blue
'D' - by far the most gorgeous male at the whole event
Sorry, boys...
Just one more - aaaaah...
Mmm, the next time I say "look nice" you breath in, ok? Nick Marshall and Jim Elderfield paid us a brief(ish) visit
Perfectly dressed for the occasion and thoroughly enjoying herself: Melanie Cheeks, the Sultana of Bling
And then there was the Surf Competition - Packer still smiling
Tipping over at 27 and a half seconds...
Should have taking a video - you should have seen the swivelling hips of our Duchess live...
Who has won the contest, btw?
JustStan having fun
What did you think a bride wears under her dress?
Oops, just realised how late it is late already - more tomorrow in my lunch break...
