Front end

Sorry if this has been covered before but I have just bought a Dakar and find the front suspension a bit soft for off-road work.

Has anyone done any mods in this area ?

I've heard that Wirth sell a progressive spring kit, any good? :nenau

cheers, Bob.

Dont rush too quickly into spending money.

As you can reach the rear shock adjuster when you are riding the bike you can set the rear easily.

When you find the sweet spot for the rear you will find the front feels just right too - it is out of balance back to front you feel most and changing the forks springs shouldn't be necessary if you get the balance right .

Thanks for the replies, as setting the rear shock up is the cheapest option I'll try that first :D

Touratech do a set of progressive springs for them. Had them on mine and made a world of difference........

I had a standard 650 Dakar for a while and hated the front end both on and off road despite adjusting the rear shock. It was the main reason for selling it.
You could try progressive springs and a heavier weight fork oil.

Touratech sell the exact same Wirth springs as Hagon, just at 30% more.

;)
