single or twin spark?

evening all.

i'm looking to buy a GS Dakar for around £3000-3500 and i've just got a few questions.

how bad were the surging issues on the original single spark models?

how much better are the post '04 bikes?

and depending on those answers, should i only really be looking at the newer bikes or should i consider single spark bikes as well?

any and all advice welcome....

I've ridden both (My wife has a 2003 model single spark model) and I can't say that I've found the single spark to hunt noticeably.

I'd have no hesitation in going for a single spark model. It's all down to the condition of it at the end of the day.
