Starting with a well sorted DR650.. a potential ultimate Adventure bike.

Seen here with Acerbis plastic fuel tank and Touratech seat for long distance comfort.

Various ways of increasing fuel capacity has been experimented with.
This is the twin Acerbis set up.

Adding a modified roofrack helps with carrying all those long items essential to overlanders.

Oh and unlike some of the smaller DR's ie. DRZs, this one has a fuel pre heater to aid cold weather use.
It utilises the optimum melting point of a plastic fuel container resting on the exhaust:augie

Yes, well I had thought of that but the alternators not up to running it although i tried a mains one through an inverter.

So the 'Ultimate Adventure' bike is now fiited with after market heated grips, these are a multi-purpose hi tech units which can warm your feet as well as pre heat the carb in winter:thumb2:clap

I must admit to there being a few teething problems with the carb pre-heater unit though:(

Tyre choice presented some problems, so after taking advise from those who know...I decided to ignore it all and fit some of these which will also be suitable for next years Cambrian Rally.
