...my country is Kiltartan Cross, My countrymen Ki
Lads n Ladies,
I really don't know where to start,
In Sept 07 I left Ireland with a copy of my mothers birth cert,
my gran's wedding cert and a few scraps of info and headed of to
India to try and find my grandmothers past. In Iran a few fotos where then
sent to me, some of gran and one of step brother, but the other people
in fotos nobody knew who they where.

I knew my gran was born in Trichy, Tamil Nadu and she had a sister named Joyce
and a step brother named Desmond but that was it....

If you read the other posts you'll see I found out info as I have travelled down
through India. While in Trichy I received a copy of my Gran's school leaving cert
and it said she done her test in Coonoor, a hill station. So I decided thats where i
would head next.

I left Trichy early and headed towards Coonoor, great views the whole way last
40km's its a mountain road twists and turns the whole way. I arrived in Coonoor
about 4pm and was looking through my guide book for a place to stay when this
police man comes up to me and starts asking me about my travels and me moto
he offers to show me the way to the hotel i picked. So we head of and get to
Hotel i check in and thank the cop, and head of to get something to eat.

On my return to the hotel a Indian gentleman calls me over and asks if i own the
motorcycle i tell him yes and we get talking about bikes, it turns out he used to be
a motorcycle racer when he was younger, he asks why i am in Coonoor and i tell him
my story and show him the fotos i have. He does not know anybody in the foto's but we
arrange to meet next morning and go exploring Coonoor for my past.

So next morning up early meet my indian friend "Reggie" and first head to "The
Coonoor Club" I meet Alan Oakley there he has a look at the fotos, I tell him my
story and he confirms that some of the foto's are from Coonoor he says there is
an old tea planter named Wood that might be able to help.....
