About time for another one huh?

Open to all, but those with proper trail bikes please be aware it will be a gentle plod for those new to the lanes and those on less agile bikes, on easier lanes.

Meet @ Solstice Park, Amesbury ready for a 10:00 start.

Please fill up* before hand.
(*= You might want to consider just how full you need to be if you own a bike with a large tank. It all adds to the weight you have to balance/pick up when you don't. I use less than one 8l tank on the 450 doing this route)

I plan to pretty much stick to the normal marker system, so please take a look here:
http://www.visordown.com/forum/forummessages.asp?dt=4&UTN=12806&V=2&SP=
Also PLEASE take a look at http://www.trf.org.uk/download.php?FILE=102 and note the TRF code of conduct.

I can't really tell you too much about the route/distance etc, as I plan to cuff it, according to how well people are doing.
What I can tell you is, the trail is generally well graded and all weather suitable.
There WILL however be the odd slippery/sandy/muddy patch, but if everyone looks out for each other they won't present anything more than a "challenge" to your mind. They aren't difficult and unless you get it WAY wrong and end up in the trees, shouldn't be at all bike damaging if you do get it wrong.
That said, if people are finding it too easy, I can alter to suit.
Suck it and see as they say.

Above all, the day is yours to enjoy, but please, not at the expense of other countryside users.

No worries chap. We will try and get a good spattering of guys that ride on the dirt regularly to give you some pointers and help ya right it if ya do come a cropper.

I'd like to come join you as well if that's OK.

Its a couple of hours from East London, are there any services near Basingstoke to grab a coffee on the way?

Fleet services on the M3 but tbh you should easily do it in one hit.
Hmm will be on my way back from an overnight in Weston - is is still novice big trailie friendly with panniers included?
Depends how much kit you need for an overnighter really huh? ;)

I will have my car at the services. You can dump the panniers in it if you like.

The diary has worked in my favour for once - I plan to be there unless the gods decree otherwise.

Can you be a bit more detailed where the meet-up is? Maps of the area show it's quite a large looking estate.

I just might be up for this- I'll tell the Newland mob (SE) about it too- we are one down at the moment...get well soon PJ.........and another will be away...sorry Shadow...:blast.......but a few have already posted and more to come I'm sure...some of us are going to Salisbury to play on the plains this Sunday....:thumb

No live firing this weekend, so good planning. :thumb2

Should be quite muddy in places after last week's rain. Have fun.

Thanks.......we did the Hog Raost and really enjoyed Steve and Clive's rideouts so much....

Hopefully we will keep away from the gloopy stuff and just stay on the good tracks as we all have Tourances.........

Just stick to the main tracks and you will be fine.
The main reason I use Wilts for the novice and big bike rides is there is nearly always an easy way around the trickier bits, but plenty of water and mud for those feeling brave.
The choice is theirs tho. :)
