Himalayas 2008....... as fast as a Bullet

Fantastic report, kept me fascinated throughout:clap:clap:clap. Great pics and good narrative. Most enjoyable.

You've now got me thinking about trips for next year - although something this adventurous may have to wait till the year after (need my leg to recover from a sporting injury).

Thanks again.

Cheers

Yip what yir getting at is Enduro is £2k dearer than your India trip
:thumb

The big difference Enduro's India trip puts nearly £2k into local charity's so the riders are not the only ones to benefit from the trip.
Don't think there is any charity for the Himalaya trip but the piece of mind of a global tour operator rather than some back yard operator I know what I would go for.:thumb

Well done Andy:clap:clap:clap

Sorry to deviate from your thread but I hope this answers Turnips question

didn't think I was touching a nerve there.

like I say, I dont know what the deal is with Enduro India.

Blazing Trails are backed by Jewel In the Crown who are pretty big.

I know Suzie doesnt make much of a profit.

Main thing is to get out there and do it:thumb

Great Andy, just great. :bow

Only read half during my lunch the rest will have to wait until tonight............love the pic of the little boy reaching outf rom the back of his older brother :thumb2

Great stuff Andy.

They didn't take you up this pass then ? :

Superb Andy, a terrific story and the pictures are great.

The picture of the two little brothers is just brilliant - wonder what they're doing right now all those miles away.

Thanks for the positive comments guys...

... it makes writing it all the more worthwhile.

here is a collective repsonse to you all:thumb2

Just seen this it's a Fantastic report Andy looks an excellent trip
:clap:clap:clap

Thanks Johnny - you would have loved the trip. It not only ironic seeing an Ooyackistan sticker in the middle of the Himalayas but also that the owner who you call "Crazy Colin" referred to you as "Crazy Johnny"......

Just brilliant Andy :clap

How much did the whole thing cost you?

It is expensive at £3,500. Some of the people had only paid £3,000 as it has gone up since last Autumn. One of the girls in the office was telling me that her Husand who has just come back from a similar tour with Blazing Trails only paid £1,200..... :augie I only hope she doesn't read this or he will have some explaining to do:D

Absolutely great report. :clap :clap :clap
...

Thanks Billy - my trip looks tame compared with yours:eek: We had a few from down under on our trip. One chap was Lou Zamberlan of the Boot Company family although he has no connection with the Italian side of the familiy with all the money. He was standing by the side of the road as a bus came past and someone was sick out of the window down his back:eek We coined the phrase "You've been Zamberland" should anyone else get struck by projectile vomit.:D

Andy, your tour guide Colin, was his surname Lillywhite by any chance?

I'm not sure of Colins family name. He has also done a few of the Southern India tours as ride leader. He is in one of the pics below i yellow jacket.

Thanks Rushy - That pic is a favourite of mine but unfortunately I can't take the credit for that one but the other one:eek: The one with the youngsters arm ot was taken by Bob Jefferies:thumb2

George Clooney indeed ya big tosser. :D:D:D:D:D:D

:thumb2

Surely not...... I was certain they mumbled George Clooney:rolleyes:

Great stuff Andy.

They didn't take you up this pass then ? :
QUOTE]

Unfortunately not, but if you are offering to take me up there to see it in your company cage the answer is Yes:D That is one spectacular picture:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

I have loads more pics but don't want to over do things. Here are a few more of my favourites.....

Many thanks again - Take it easy:thumb2

I think this is one of my favourite pics from the trip. It looses impact with the size. I have it as my desk top at high resolution and its great.

Thanks again

Most definately, we missed so much due to the road closures and there is just so much more to see such as the "real" highest road at 18,000 feet and also the Sphiti Valley which we missed.

Thanks for the feedback Garry.
