I feel a Fatboy coming on...

bought a heritage softtail yesterday, its getting on but low miles for its age and shines like a new one

been promising myself one of these for years and after the 50 mile spin home i am glad i did

totally different to gs (which i am keeping)but fun at a more sadate pace go for it whats the difference in being told you are a poser copying ewan and charlie or a poser copying arnie in the terminator (just dont buy chaps :ymca:ymca

Rented one a number of years back in LA.

One of the better HDs.

VERY nice indeedy! But Nick, why can't you get yourself an old, slightly ratty Sport Glide with about 40k on the clock?

Then, when you change it next week, I can buy it off you? :D

Cool. Might I ask how old / miles / how much? Ta.

After having various GS's over the years, apart from the 1200 I bought a Harley last year and did about 2k in 2-3 months and loved it. :thumb2 But having GS's for so many years I convinced myself that the only bike for me was a GS, so I sold the Harley for a profit and bought a GS1200 with 600 miles on it, result. But last week I went with my brother in law to look at a Harley for him and ended up buying a Streetbob myself:blast, only trouble is I cannot afford to keep both so the GS has gone.

Again, I'm not into the lifestyle thing but admit to having a Rallye suit for the GS.

Cheers,

Andy

Then explain why EVERY single launch report of the XR1200 slated the quality of the bikes, and my local dealer's demo XR12 had rust all over it the day it was uncrated !!

never saw my XR when it was uncrated but been using it this winter, soaked in acf50 and not washed it yet. bit of rust on the discs but thats all. i must say that i wear black jacket and jeans on mine, same kit that i wore when i owned a couple of GS's, could'nt see myself wearing a twat suit the same as i will never wear chaps. studded thong and nipple clamps, now thats a different thing:ymca:ymca:ymca:D

Test rode a Fat boy today. This bad (fat) boy had the big bore kit (1690cc!) and stage 2 tuned with Vance and Hines 2 into 1. Hells teeth it was fast in a straight line. Couple of sports bike riders couldn't believe it!
V V loud tho' had to put the earplugs in (no need with the GS). If i could afford it, i'd have one tomorrow............aw what the hell, 2nd son doesn't want to go to uni anyway!!

My montauk is a lot lighter, costs half the money goes well, stops when i pull that lever, not many about, but is a bit quiet.....still its a Boxer, goes well with my GS.

I have the same engine conversion on my Fat-Bob, but with Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggered 2-1-2 pipes. I can confirm it goes like stink and made my GSA feel slow until revved hard :rob

[my streetglide has a dealer fitted 110in motor. something so big should'nt go so fast. went down to calne last saturday with a friend on a v rod, cruising at 100 with no effort what so ever on the motorway/duell carageway...alegedly:augie if they put this motor in a basic dyna without all the bling and chrome crap they would sell all they made.

Not that i'm likely to buy one . . . . but if i DID, , , ,

my pops has an R1200 and loves it to bits very nice well handling bike:thumb2

Look - this is no rehersal - get it bought - now - you will love it - not in a GS way you understand but in a completely different way - like they say if I have to explain . . .
I've had my Fat Boy for over 10years and never regret it - you can sit and look at it - beautiful - mine is Evo 1340 engine and I prefer this to the Twin Cam 1450 (I had a road-king).
What you waiting for????????????????
