Calum's Road is a goer

Glad you could make it Neil:thumb

Thought it might be interesting to see the runners and riders so if I'm right the ones I know of are:

H.R.H Oonyack - KTM 990 Adventure
Betty Swallocks - 1150 GSA SE
Masterbaker (Betty's britherinlaw)
David James tbc - 1200 GSA
Wapping tbc - 1200 GSA
Thunder - R 80 g/s PD
Flash of the Gap - 1200 GS
Outtomunch-1200GS
Dazz - 1200 GSA
MacWong
Neil 23 - 1200 GS

Good representation of models there, for the 1200 guys I have a spare ring antenna I can bring with me :D

Let the piss taking commence :thumb2

Bugger this, I wish I hadn't found this thread. Sounds like a great idea and cause.

Been mulling this round for a few days now and can't get it out of my head.

The wife's OK with it and time off from work should be doable.

Have you got room for one more?

There's a big red road all the way there, looks like dual carriageway most the way - shouldn't take more than a few days to get there............... :aidan

Having just come back from my hols I've only got the bottom half map (may be of use in case we overshoot :D) Will have to go into town and look out some maps and books over the weekend.

Ace for you guys doing some of the research already :thumb2 I've only got as far as scanning google earth So far didn't see a big red road at all, only a fecking small yellow one ---- should be fun :bounce1 Can't be too hard to get down there navigation wise though, just need to keep the water on the right hand side and the big sandy bits on the left

Anyone know good stops on this route and somewhere we could change tyres at the arse end of Spain

Or just ride from 9 to 5 and stop when we find somewhere to stay
ride 6 days and then have a day off
What do you think
Plymouth to Bilbao is 35hrs on the ferry, rough cost £210 not something I could do :barf
That gives 2 weeks to get to Gambia from Morocco and back up to Dakar

Hello Johnny, re-tyres-- know a guy who lives near Malaga and has a business renting GS Adventures out, he will know of places to have tyres changed and any other jobs to be done before we leave for Morocco, let me know and will contact him when needed, :thumb
Regards Neil.

Are you going to the Christmas Dance ?? I'm not allowed being offshore at the moment:( although I am planning to gatecrash at some point:augie

Andy,

still negotiating the between career break and time off without pay (subtle difference there from big corp perspective!) I'll be at the dinner dance, would be good to see you and catch up :beerjug: and    :beer:if you can get in (just bring a plunger and pretend to be a Dalek). I see you've got your name down for Ullapool too.
