Advice please Yamaha XT600

I would appreciate anyones advice on a potential purchase (actually part-ex for my RT) of an XT600, is a 1990 with 4600 miles and apparently in good nick, though havent seen it yet. what do you reckon its worth and are there any troublesome bits I should be looking for. I did once have an Xt500, but that was about 30 years ago. john

I recon they are a classic bike to be
Does what's needed - plenty of spares to be had if needed - they use the engine in loads of other applications/vehicles because of that
They will stand abuse, newer ones have steel/chrome wheels
Not owt like a Ktoom or full off road bike
See the HU section on them, that should assist you with your decision
I beleive it to be the most used bike for overland RTW excursions
Ive had mine 3 year done a few miles done a few trails done a few rallys
done a few offs - never let me ***** ( If you say it - it will - so I havn't )

I has got that, I remember, not too fondly, of the many futile attempts to kick start the Army rotax single 500`s, never did get the knack, though I was amazed to see one start 1st time recently.
