Shropshire on an Airhead by an Airhead

Seeing times are tough it seemed only right that a member of the Irish contingent hopped on a ferry (not fairy Garfield settle down ) and bolster the local economy by attempting to drink Syco dry in the Smirnoff department. I think I succeeded!

Arrived in slightly moist and cold Birkenhead on Friday morning and headed down to Vern's, the heavens opened on the way there but copious coffees and a blow heater soon had us dried out.

Soon after my arrival the sun put in an appearance as did Kenny and Neil23 (aka 5 pints).

We discussed the various topics, Obama's presidency, the credit crunch, just how big a set of lights you could get on a GS.

But most of all the dyslexic stonemason who had his business next to Vern's

After more coffee and a cheery wave Neil and I headed south for Brosley, Vern had a tear in his eye and Kenny a look of relief as all the bits still seemed to be fitted to his g/s which was staying at Project VND.

We had booked into the Lion Hotel about a 10 minute walk to the main event

    secure parking

    massive breakfasts

and alternative Tosser transport just over the road

    Friday night

Friday evening started with some excellent food and a few drinks, the food was so excellent I was distracted and forgot to take some photos, just take my word for it it was excellent!!!!

    Food was eaten

Drink was drunk (Neil23 on his first pint of Prof's cider)

    Tyres were kicked

and at some point the singing started. Did I mention that drinking was going on?

Ash was shocked after hearing Garfield's latest plans for the SS.

Some left at a reasonable hour

While others just kept on singing

    To be continued.

Fettling was carried out and advice given

While Garfield fiddled with his equipment

    Yes indeed.

Apparently he asked a few people to give him head but they all refused!

That was the slightly shortened version, I had planned on doing a small Ford and a short off road section taking in Snailbeach Lead Mine, but after the sphincter twitching ride up the Burway onto the Long Mynd I decided to cut that bit out..... maybe next year

Hmm road surface was ice, water, water over ice, or ice over water

Apparently the road down to Asterton is the one that is ice covered in the winter, very glad it wasn't

Otherwise it'd have been hello Ratlinghope.
