Tornado warning issued for North Wales

Areas west and south of Colwyn Bay are expecting severe weather for Friday night.
The National Weather Service in Cardiff, Wales issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern Conwy, Denbighshire and eastern Gwynedd at 12:15 p.m. Meteorologists were concerned about golfball-size hail with the system. The cell was located near Anglesey when the warning was issued.
A tornado warning was issued for the area eight minutes later, with specific cautions for the cities of Betws-y-Coed, Llangollen and Ruthin. The warning was originally set to expire at 6:15 p.m., but was extended until 6:45 p.m. for the region. The areas of Bala and Llandudno were included in the update.
Further details are anticipated later on in the day.
