BMW Grimsby, £265.00 inc. vat for supply and fit of a pair of Tourance's, seems high, what do you think?

They do let me borrow any bike I choose for the day though!!

About the going rate for an MBW dealer. But why when there are many specialist tyre fitters who offer ride in- ride out for much less. Not being local to you I can't recommend anywhere but I paid £180-ish for mine a couple of months ago.

Listen- if you said you paid 50p each wheel some dickhead would say youv`e been seen off, but £265.00 BLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOODDY HELL MATE thats a bit steep that £264.00 more than I paid.

JAMES SHERLOCK WILL DELIVER A PAIR TO YOUR DOOR FOR £155 A PAIR YOU CAN GET THEM FITTED ANY WERE FOR £20 EACH OR A LOT LESS IF YOU SHOP AROUND WHICH WIL STILL LEAVE YOU WITH £70 IN YOUR POCKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beerjug:

Can someone who's got a new 1200GS on demo, just ride it round to my house, and I'll swap that tyres over from my 1150!

:D

Search "sandbach" and "tyres". Steve charges £146/pair ride-in ride-out. Plus you get a nice jaunt across the Pennines to the proper side the of the world :D

I think "ripped off" doesn't even come close. £160 for the tyres, plus £30 to have them fitted to the bike (not just loose wheels) would be closer to the mark.

Tourances fitted front and rear - ride in ride out service - £174.00 inc Protyre Bristol.

Bit Steep

Bit Steep if you ask me, I paid £176.01 for a pair of Tourance all in, in London not to long ago – So in other words the loan bike cost you £89.00 for the day – does that include petrol??

:yikes Oh yes you are being ripped off.

If you pay that kind of money to my tyre fitter he'll pay your tunnel ticket from Folkestone to Calais and back, plus fuel to ride over to this side of Belgium!

I pay about 220 euros for a set of Tourances here, so that 's about 150 pounds!

You should consider a trip to Belgium next time!

Have a few beers :beerjug: Buy some fags :smokeboun
And make a profit out of having new tyres fitted :D

bet you're glad you asked

well I trust that you feel better for knowing............

Ripped Off?? Shafted more like.

As graham h said, get them delivered for £155, then remove your own wheels and take them to your local tyre dealer and have them fitted for £5/wheel.

Satnav....i seem to remember another very similar thread to this a while back...someone got royally shafted by their BWM dealer over tyres.......after getting similar responses to the erudite and knowledgable here (and Bakerman:p) he went back to the dealer and i believe he got some wonga back as a good will thing....

does anyone else remember details or indeed claim to be that soldier??

Might be worth a go though....drop liberal mentions of 'good will', gs club 2500 members say that its a lot', 'come to you for servicing' etc etc and at the end of the day the worst thing that could happen is a few minutes wasted on a phone call.

go for it!

Most National Tyres outlets fit bike tyres. Just had mine done in Barnsly £160 the pair plus £5 per wheel if you just want to ride in and let them do everything!!:D :D

Sounds like BMW Grimsby are very short on the old beer fund after the 1200 launch!!! Makes you a bit :barf dont it.

P.s. £160 includes new valves and balancing:hapybnce:

I fit Continental TKC-80's

Front 110/80 19 - £43.97
Rear 150/70 17 - £49.34

+VAT = £109.64

Even if the rear only lasts 5000 miles, I'm happy with that.

i paid £144 + £8 fitting. think i got a bargain? for tourances

peter:beerjug:

Cant remember how much exaclty I paid but it was less than that in Euros!!! So if you have a euro trip planned and it can coincide with tyre changes might be worth while.:)

Its time you started going to Rainbow, your'e close enough.

Cool Jimb, I am about halfway between the two near Scunny but will rainbow be any cheaper them being another BMW dealer and all.

Thanks all for your advice, I spoke with the head honcho at Grimsby and he is gonna see if he can knock it down, a lot. So this forum has saved me big bucks which ever way you look at it, either BMW do the decent thing or I go to my local independant bike shop where Colin will be happy to fit them for a load less dosh I have since found out.

Shame really because I got the bike from BMW Grimsby in the first place, you would have thought they would want to keep my future business not insult my intelligence with crazy prices. Perhaps they think we are all in the major money league, us buying BMW's as we do, who knows.

BIG THANKS AS ALWAYS FOR ALL THE HELP, ..............
