    Hotel in Troyes

I need a good hotel with private parking (for the bike) in the centre of old Troyes - I need a stop over on the way to the Vercors next summer and old Troyes looks pretty cool

    Suggestions please.

I think you'll hate it given the sort of places you like to brag about staying at but this place is proper old skool French, proper quirky, right in the centre and with secure parking. I loved it.........................

Hotel Les Comtes de Champagne LINKY

Thanks - looks ok to me, will investigate more - what's that thing just inside the front door?

P.S. your perception of me needs re-calibrating, methinks

I've stayed there too, on several occasions. Close to town centre proper family-run hotel with secure courtyard parking.

    Shame about the bed-bugs

Encountered on only one occasion I hasten to add.
    Life is short.
    And random.
That's all you need to know...

I stopped in the Ibis which is a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the old town and has secure underground parking

I stayed in one right next to the Train Station (can't recall its name) but it was very well laid out and appointed, good value for money and had secure parking the staff were great as well. It was only a minutes walk from the old town centre, where we had an excellent evening out touring the various locations in the town.

The only issue was when heading back after a good evening, we passed a number of woman who appeared to be down on their luck; well judging by how little clothing they were wearing they were

Think I might go for this one - checked out the Tripadvisor photos for Hotel les Comtes de Champagne and errrrrrr it looked a bit grubby around the edges, not a problem for me as the location is great but my paramour is a bit more fussy

Often stay here, great location and secure parking, carpets are a bit threadbare but it all added to the character of the place

Of course I will bow down to your greater knowledge, or is it experience
