After the excellent weekend we all enjoyed at the Gathering of the Clans this year, we've decided to host next year's event once again in Ullapool.
For those who missed the 2009 Clans meeting, I think it's fair to say that this wee town can offer us almost everything we're looking for to host a cracking weekend.
Ullapool is a small fishing village and harbour on the east side of Loch Broom. Located in the county of Ross and Cromarty approx 60 miles N/W of Inverness. It's surrounded by spectacular scenary and fantastic roads which seem to have been designed for our entertainment.
We've arranged accomodation at The Ceilidh Place hotel and bunkhouse
http://ceilidhplace.com/ceilidhplace/default.asp
and also
The Royal Hotel The prices here are £55 for dinner, bed and breakfast or £45 for BnB only. Both rates have a £15 supplement for single occcupancy.
The Royal Hotel has 31 rooms.
All the above accomodation is on a first come/first served basis and should be booked directly with the respective hotels.
We are taking no bookings.
Both hotels requested this and TBH it's also much easier from my point of view as we won't have to worry about keeping the hotels updated with names and numbers etc. It also gets rid of us (the organisers) taking deposits or feeling guilty if folk back out at the last minute.
Campers will again have the facilities at the Broomfield campsite which by all acounts was a top site for our needs. No booking required for the campsite but if you let us know if you're intending to camp, I'll keep them updated as to numbers attending.

All the accomodations are a very short walk to the village centre.
The Ceilidh Place has the following accommodation available
The Bunkhouse which is £15 pppn (same as this year)
and various hotel rooms. The Ceilidh Hotel rooms are £60 per head per night BnB.
Ullapool also has a wide selection of B&Bs so this varied choice of accomodation should suit all tastes and pockets.
Please book these yourself but let us know you are attending the event. Here are some links which may be of help and interest

If you've never been to this area before, it's absolutely stunning. Have a look at the photos from this year's Clans event (some of them anyway ) and you'll get a feel of what's on offer.
Once you've booked, can you stick a post up here or PM either myself or HRH Oonyack so that we can keep updated as to numbers and who's attending.
Look forward top seeing you all at the Gathering of the Clans 2010 in Ullapool

PS Before anyone asks: Yes. There will be Jägermeister
