They sometimes get censored and deleted that way if they fall into the "NWS" category. I've had a couple go missing...

TinyPic seems quite good as well, I opened an account when I was having trouble accessing Photobucket (turned out it didn't like IE6 but is OK with 7 and later)

There are some rather neat things you can do with Smugmug, plus I like the fact that as it's a proffessional, paid for service, there's some come-back and they have a degree of responsibility to look after things properly, whereas with the others, it's pretty hit and miss and in theory, they have no liability or financial incentive you look after your pics

I guess it's a matter of how important your pics are to you

Which is why I use both, but for posting a few pics on here Photobucket is easiest

I use Picassa (free) for quick editing and uploading of albums and emailing images as it connects directly to my (free) Gmail accounts which each have a (free) 20 gig storage space..

And I think not much out there is a secure as Googles servers..

    *winces*

You don't want to be looking up (on a search engine other than Google) about how many times their servers have been breached then

Google are a bit like Microsoft and the US military, the NSA etc....the bigger they get, the more of a target they become, to hackers, l33t k1bz, terrorists and any other fekker who fancies a go.

I use Gmail as well......the email for my whole company runs through it, but I also back up using a POP client every week or two.

Not knocking them, they do a very good job and so far I've lost nothing, but the more they get me/us to rely on them, the more nervous I get TBH....be sensible and back everything up
