Can anyone tell me if there is an equivalent BMW GS specialist like Steptoe residing anywhere in the west midlands within easy reach of Worcester?

If there is I bet he doesn't have the same sunny disposition and carefree nature :D

one of him is more than enough ;)

ST'eptoe there can be only one:D:D the world couldnt handle another:augie

I am going to take a run down to Sextons and see what what, would love to go see Steptoe but its a time thing, do you think he would come to me :hide

are we on the same subject or are you saying my bike is scrap and needs recycling  lots of non - ferrous metal but bit extreme to melt it down

I know it's going back a bit but Andrew Sexton seems to be the man:thumb

It appears from the various replies to which I am most grateful, that Andrew Sexton is the name being offered up as a suitably experienced GS mechanic in my locality. I have followed the link above but notice this thread is dated "03"! As such is Andrew Sexton still available and where is he located?

He is still there!!

He's based in the Hook Norton area - I can get a number for you if you need it.

Just one word of advice.

He can be a bit of a bugger for quoting one price, and then the work costing another. It not that he's trying to rip you off, it's more that he does a very good job, and tends to underestimate.

Just make sure you are clear about what you are prepared to pay!!

Hi Toad and thanks for the recommendation and advice.

A number would be great if you have it available.

I don't suppose if we all got together we could encourage Steptoe to do a road trip up here?

Why not ride down to him, can't be more that a couple of hours. He'll loan you a bike and you could have a day riding around London, see the sights then back home for tea.

I've popped down on a Saturday from Nottingham a couple of times for him to work on my bike :thumb2
