Donations in memory of Gill

If anybody who knew Gill wants to make a donation in her memory, a justgiving page has been published in aid of the Willen Hospice.. the place that cared for Gill over the last few years, particularly in the last days of her life

i know its got my name in the address.. i think i cocked up, but if you read it you know its not buying me a new bike x

A few weeks ago, Gill smuggled some money into my car for selling her serow for her... ive used it to start the ball rolling

Gill was always a very classy lady who carried herself with dignity.

For those who don't remember the name, you might remember seeing this for a month a few years ago.

"Sweet Torque" was the caption.

I'm sorry to hear the sad new Marion.

I'll be out on the Serow this weekend getting muddy and my thoughts will be with Gilly's family and friends.

Any chance of 'sweet torque' being added to the pics at the top of the web page???

oh yes... the mother of all hangovers

she got a telling from me and a lot of make up x x
one of my many fond memories of Gill... next to her not having any sense of direction

this thread is a lovely tribute to a truly remarkable lady

My memories of her are smiling even though it's going to shite and our bikes were boats and she had a flat tyre

Getting up early to check tyre pressures and always having a smile even though there was such a long way to go

and then right at the end when we were all so very tired, she kept going demanding that we be able to ride our bikes right to the finish so we could get to this

I have some fantastic memories of Gilly and feel honoured to have spent that time with her and benefited from her wonderful optimism

A really sad loss

Last year in France even though she was so obviously ill the smile never left her face, a truly inspirational lady:rose

'Brighton' you were a one-off ...

Gilly, you - like Aitch - will always ride with me. Thank you for so many wonderful memories. Until we meet again, ride safe. :rose

Funeral

Gilly B's funeral is on friday 4th december at 13.30
it will be held at Peterborough Crematorium

just in case anybody wants to know

We had a little fund rising event last night in memory Gilly and for the Great North Air Ambulance.

With thanks to my colleagues, family and friends, Mort and Colin. We have helped Matron reach her target.

I know Gilly would have done this for any one of us.

RIP Gilly x

Ive Just read this......

thank you so much for taking the total past the target.....

Gill will always be in many of our hearts and this would have made her very happy

Its a few months now since she left us... so i think its a fitting finale to close the just giving site too

Thanks to all who have remembered Gill in many ways.... I miss her particularly now that the temperature has reached what we used to call 'riding point'... I 'll never meet anybody as tolerant of my quirky riding style, so its going to be a lonely Summer

Thanks again everybody for your kindness and generosity
