I'm going to have to fit a Y-piece soon and wondered if any adjustments are necessary ? Does it weaken the fueling or does the FI compensate ?

As long as you refit the Lambda Sensor probe it will adjust itself though its always worth getting your bike dyno'd to know what its doing.
Speak to Gerry re this. His was incredibly weak on the dyno runs until a pwercommander fitted. You take your chance without one.
Where does one get a bike dynoed in the South east?

I holed a piston and have put the cause down to my bike running dangerously lean in top gear between 60 - 80mph.
The lambda sensor and engine management aint good enough to sort out some bikes......some are ok but mine definitely wasn't.
Apparently GS's are setup lean from the factory and any tinkering can push em over the edge. It doesn't take much.
I'm now deciding to either sell my y-piece and can or save up for a chip or Techlusion. I don't believe there is a power commander for any BMW's??
The worst of it is I could have had a chip by now if I hadn't coughed up over £200 to replace the fried piston and cylinder!
