So Gang Whilst not Physically there with you!

I'm gonna post 6 piccies too.......

............... :)

First off we have mine and Sockpuppets bikes in the Maidstone services. We hadn't even 'started' the journey proper loike and hit a blizzard on the M20 on the way to meet t'others. It was foolhardy to press on to our rendevous with the others in Folkestone (eh lads ;)) and as we pulled off the M-way Sockpuppet dropped his bike twice :(, we were then caught up by the ol' bill and he kindly escorted into the services :)

Snow was to be a big feature of our trip, when I broke off on my own I was also snowed-in in The Atlas mountains and again hit trouble in The Picos at the end of the trip - I also arrived home in snow; syncronicity :)

Here we have my first night on my own in Morocco. I'd been getting increasingly frustrated at staying in 'western' style hotels and now, at last, was in a small familly run Auberge. I was the only guest and was sat there planning which Pistes to ride the next day, courtesey of the book so kindly given to me by Mikey :) with some bizzare Moroccan soap playing in the background.
Meanwhile the owner was cooking me up the most delicious Tangerine (Tm Thunder ;)) in his kitchen :drool

Another days ride and, at last, I was on the Pistes - this is what I'd been looking forward to all the time we were riding througfh cold, wet, snowy Europe. Master of my own destiny (Tm Whatton ;))

And finally, strangely you may think, the highlight of the trip for me was a lock-in in a bar in Jerez on my way home.

The owner was a biker (Capnord), his wife was gregarious and bonkers in only the way the Spanish can be and his mates played guitar and sang flamenco all night whilst we demolished bottle after bottle of Manzanilla, crap piccie as most are out of shot but a great reminder of a fab night :)

baboons in the back yard.
On the Thursday morn, just after the riders had set off from SK to Banjul
we gathered on the balcony, and a troop of baboons arrived and beagan
playing just past the horse exercise yard and the clanging cows.

N'Fally boat. Mrs Bhud and I kept telling each other this was not a holiday
it was an adventure. And having been picked up at 6am in Musa's cab, driven
for 6 hours through the bush, experiencing the joys of the Banjul barra ferry
on the way, we were deposited inthe early afternoon by the banks of the river.
still totally on the dark about our travel itinerary, we'd clAmbered aboard with
our lugage and entrusted our safe passage to N'Fally, who was a magnicent and
informative captain, pointing put local wildlife, incl a python, en route.

When we alighted on the far shore, we were met by rog on a horse and cart, to compete the jlourney to SK in style!

and the piece de resistance!

On Saturday the guys returned from dropping their bikes at the airport, with faces like a long weekend. Well, they'd just said goodbye to their trusted and constant companions who'd seen them through thick and thin, hot and cold, over the past 5 weeks, so not really surprising they were acting like they'd lost their right arm.

So when heather revealed she had a motorbike and ambulance sidecar in the horse and donkey house 100 yards from the hotel, I've never seen drinks finished so fast, as they raced to the garage, charged batteries and filled tyres, eventually getting going the bike and sidecar, complete with flashy red light (that seemed to be a very important part of the experience).

I didn't make it, but could have used the ambulance to get me to the airport
Due heaps of
