If you want the real explanation I think you'll find that in the bottom picture the angle of the rear triangle makes the exhaust look twisted, but in the top picture it looks straight. It's being exaggerated by the contrast between the frame colour and the exhaust colour, which will diminish when the frame gets powder coated.
Sent it out to paint, powder coat and chrome today
Well to be fair I took the seat off, made a template for the tank strap and talked bollox about paint. Pretty much decided there's to be no more chrome, and decided what needs powder coating
The parts are back from the powder coaters and the final build is in progress. Sprocket brake now on, chain guard and primary drive belt guard made up, original headlight powder coated, engine & gearbox now in place
I picked up the tanks today from Flakey's Custom Paint and I love the job he has done.
The silver is medium hex cut flake and the orange is 1 through 5 coats of candy, all topped off with the deepest piano black and multiple coats of lacquer.
My poor photographic skills and an iPhone don't do it justice:
Well the brake bites on the inner part of the disk so it shouldn't be oily, unless you're very crack handed with the lube. Secondly centrifugal force pushes the oil away from the friction surface. Finally it runs a sealed bearing chain from a 150bhp superbike so it doesn't really need lube or adjusting.
And jackass is gonna be positively wetting himself when he sees this. Only hope that it may galvanise him into starting and then finishing a proper project for a change.
