Thanks to all who came along, had a really good day out. :thumb

Thnaks to Clive for tailending and eating our dust all day. :comfort

Ela's ankle is swollen with bruising starting to appear, will get it checked out later today.

Thanks to all for a very good day out :D

All the best for Ela. Hope your ankle is getting better :thumb2

Pictures to follow soon ...

Guess we were wrong to say it clearly wasn't broken then :blast

Fair play to the no named person for riding home with a broken foot! :bow

Thanks for all your good wishes! :)

Guess I won't be going anywhere soon - let alone trail riding...

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Mind you, this could as well have happened to soemone like me mowing the lawn :D

I see you have been put on kitchen duties.

Nice slippers, by the way :D

Someone needs to put the washing-up away and that stir-fry won't cook itself:augie

Bad luck with the leg:comfort At least you'll be able to put your feet up as you watch the Vaterland get the early plane home from the World Cup.:D

Ela, get well soon, as we're clearly not capable of trailriding without you. Within seconds of you leaving, the group split with one faction (no names, no pack drill) heading off at speed down a restricted byway and then splitting further into 2 groups and the other group ended up the wrong side of Aldworth with a road ride back to Streatley, coincidentally all meeting up again at the Bull.

130 miles door to door, and a good amount of that off road to thanks to Steve, Ela and Clive.

I was also pleased to see my old bike performing so well:D

Get well soon Ela. :thumb It was a great riding and I can't wait to trailriding with you next time. :thumb2

Here are few pictures from ride:

Was good to see it being ridden properly for a change......:comfort

Are you running the new bike in or is it restricted? :nenau

That was Possu posting the above, obviously, shamelessly using my laptop while I was hopping to the bathroom... Sorry, Martin, I will log-off in future.

Thank you all for your good wishes - even the cheeky ones from Ash and Gaz... We'll talk about the Fatherland's performance at the World Cup in a few weeks' time, shall we? :green gri

Sie möchten an Ihrem Alter achtgeben.

You're right Ash, I'm far too old for this offroading malarkey, I'll stick to traditional German hobbies from now on such as knitting Lederhosen and eating cake. Thanks for the advice. :thumb

Guess who's sleeping in the garage tonight? :whip

Right, back to the more important things - here are a few pics of mine:

Marcin made sure that we were out of bed in time on Monday morning

We thought the Harley Davidson dealership would be an appropriate rendezvous... (left to right: Possu, Dave, Dave, Berin & Rowan)

... for a group of trail riders... :D (Marcin_gda2, 7cuero, Strobingred, Desert Rat, Dr JM, MrH, an innocent but interested passerby, another Dave, Possu, Dave, etc)

On Garford Field we ran straight into rush-hour traffic...

Next stop: the notorious Ginge Brook, which is far better captured in Marcin's photos earlier. :thumb2

However, just to give you an idea of the - erm, 'run-up'... I think that's Dave

After a good measure of fast and furious lanes we rode through Aldbourne that just had its English Civil War Festival

Before things got out of hand I thought we'd rather do some lanes.

Hey Dave, what took you so long?
886623799_WFByB-L.jpg

Now there is a clue...
886624355_BdtAL-L.jpg

At that point we were thinking: should we ride to the start of Halfpenny Catch Lane on tarmac or sort of doubling back on ourselves onto Dark Lane? We went for the second option - nomen est omen... :eek

Half way down the trail I managed to avoid the tree trunk in the middle of the track but not the deep root step afterwards... :blast

It hurt like hell but nurses Dr JM and Mav did a great job stabilising and calming me down... :comfort
886602990_YDR4o-XL.jpg

... as did everyone else with kind words and helpful advice. Thank you.
886606555_uzgRW-L.jpg

Apart from that - it was a great day's trail riding and I enjoyed myself immensely (most of the time...).

Thanks to Possu for organising, to Strobingred for tail-ending and to you all for your company and all the fun we had! :thumb2

I look forward to the next one - even though it might take a while...
