    Ancient Sites

    Are there any ancient sites, standing stones, etc local to the wee-kend?

    Quite a few on Dartmoor, from medieval mine towns [deserted for 100's of years] and old stone railways, for getting the granite out of moors...
    plus loads of other stuff

    The best place I visited in the area was a big red house on a corner.

    Get the tour from the owners, awesome and fantastic hosts

    I'm not allowed to visit though as I have an oilhead

    Well the bike has had a quick service, checked valve clearences, topped up oil etc, and after checking with work I may even be able to get away on the thursday, so I may be there early having said that, I may camp somewhere else Thursday nigh, as I intend to take the coast road through Somerset and North Devon, we shall see.
