Hi i was recommended by a mate to this site, and having had a quick nosey
you seem friendly enough.

So the big Q i now ride a Fireblade, and at the age of 59ish i'm thinking of a
change,i've spotted a .........

F650GS,2001, with 21,500 it has panniers and seems quite clean, the price is
£2000.

Now what i know about BMWs you can write on a stamp,so with your kind help,
i will be able to decide.

So are they good bikes, is it a fair price, what do i look for.

Lets hope this is the start of many posts

Your mate seems like a groovy guy! :D

Plenty of locals over on the North West section Baza, if you get that GS there will be plenty of offers of local rides/camping/tours etc.

Ok heres the news,i had a proper look at the GS today, bloody ell its like sitting on an old sofa, compared to my blade, anyway i noticed one of the fork seals had gone so this is the deal.................

New Fork Seals
Complete Service, Oil, Filter.
12 Months MOT
It has ABS,Heated Grips,Tool Kit, Spare Cables.
I thought it was one owner, but it has had five, still it looks in good nick,
the ally rims are spot less,

So is 2K about right for the bike

Is it dealer or private ?
Have you looked at it with the panniers OFF ?
Has it got a full service history ?

£2k sounds about right, just check the usual things.

It's obviously a very different bike to your Fireblade....but in a good way, you may be inclined to go further afield with one:thumb

I can tell you Baza is buying from a dealer.
Mike Hose in Wallasey, I knew Mike in the 80's when he used to race a Harris Magnum, as a young lad I was in awe of how someone could race something so exotic. I used to hang out with some of his 'crowd' & I remember him popping a wheelie up Holland Road in New Brighton & we all just looked at each other with dropped jaws.

But I digress..

Get the bike Baza & join us in the lakes in August. :thumb2

Nice & relaxed, non of this arse up, head down nonsence any more.
It's all about enjoying your riding now not pinning it & getting your apexes spot on.

You never know, you may even get out on those easy trails sometime. :clap

(I've shown Baza a photo of your 650GS Tim)

:D
