Seems the old F650GS single will be back by popular demand in the UK later this year. It's going to be manufactured in Brazil instead of Berlin......!

There was a small article about the 'Brazilian' F650GS in MCN of a couple of weeks ago....!:thumb

I also looked at a new but very limited supply white G650GS/P 'local authority' bike complete with single seat and seat storage cover, Police engine bars, luggage, ABS and heated grips but they've all been sold.....!:blast

yay, spares won't be a problem for a while yet then :D

What engine are they going to use tho, the rotax contract / agreement ended with the german production, the chinese bikes use a engine from tiawan or somewhere.

saw few g650gs reviews and some had rotax on the engines, think it is a lecenced copy of the engine

Saw a new black G650GS in a German dealer last week...................looks 100% the same as the F650GS, except the engine is black and same spec as G650 X Series (now produced in China by the Loncin factory)

No idea where the G650GS is manufactured................:nenau

I think it's made in Mexico not Brazil, it'll be intersting to see how the quality compares with the earlier F650GS's.

Exciting - dying to see some more about it, Mike, both links fail I'm afraid

Definately a Brazilian!

The G650GS is assembled at DAFRA Motors Manaus Brazil........!

''The assembly line is the twin sister of our production line in Berlin. We built it and trained the Brazilian teams in how to operate it. The people with key functions are right here in Berlin the others on site in Manaus. Our plant continues to take care of series production therefore guaranteeing BMW quality even in the heart of the Brazilian rainforest''

That's a quote from Hermann Bohrer head of the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin since 2006 before that he was head of Rolls Royce no less. The quote was in BMW Classic 30 Years GS magazine.

Don't fret - it's a F650GS Single........................it's exactly the same bike:blast

It was a limited number G650GS/P in white livery, single seat with radio box and unusual crashbars aswell as ABS and heated grips. Mrs P really liked it but it was already sold.......!:blast
