Hi Guys

Off on a tour of Scotland tomorrow morning for a couple of weeks. Its mostly round the western isles but we are spending a few days on the mainland as well.

You can also get a more detailed map at http://goo.gl/maps/kRnh it isn't an exhaustive list just the bare bones and main routes. Most of the accommodation is hostels so not totally roughing it with camping but not 5 star either.

So if you see a red 1200GSA looking lost give us a wave and laugh at us :)

Did much the same a couple of years back.

Wish I was coming with you.

Did the western Isles and west coast last year end of may and really enjoyed it especially riding on the beach runway at 100mph Barra Airport!

looking forward to pics and RR hope the weathers good for you!

Back now and was really lucky with the weather. It rained one night which didn't matter as we were done for the day and one day up in Lewis. We even got sun burnt one day. Looks like I under estimated the mileage as well as it was nearer 1500 miles with all the small roads on the islands included. Some pics on mine and SWMBO's facebooks if your interested.

I might do a ride report later but it will be a few days as I am playing catchup right now. In the mean time if you have never been then get organising as it really is a trip that has to be done. :flag

thanks for uploading the images - you visited some great spots and those outer hebridean roads are a bit of a challenge - bet you will be back one day though :)

To be honest the worst road I came across was the single track going north from Lochinver. It was tight and twisty with loads of blind corners and summits. That wouldnt be so bad but the twats in cages having to lock up the wheels to stop before hitting me wasnt fun at all. Most of the road had no where to go to the side so no exit plan. Had fun on some of the unpaved tracks on the islands once I had dropped Kirsty off.

looks great - lookign for a domestic 10 day trip from Newcastle either north or south... was thinking pembrokeshire devon etc back through cheshire, but lookin at that route.... nice one, cheers for bothering to put the info on line.
