I have one of these on the GS.

I used the BMW extra plug accessory and connected the live and earth,
Used an MP3 mini jack from the headphone out port with a ground loop isolator to the Autocom Aux 2, the Radio has an Aux port for MP3.

This is a superb bit of kit and the volume etc.. is great, requires an antenna for good reception.

Mounts on a Ram mount or you can buy a special mount for the bars.

Brought from the USA with postage about £150.

welcome

looks a nice bit of kit but fook me £150 for a radio:eek:

Could've sworn I glimpsed a poster alongside the A1 last month that said summat about "Radio and TV anytime on your Garmin GPS?"

Meant to chase it up but forgot all about it till I spotted this thread.

Boo!

It's a new model: Garmin 1490TV I'd hoped it'd be a software upgrade for the Z660? The 660 certainly has RF reception capability...

Watching the vid here:
http://vodpod.com/watch/3952327-garmin-1490tv-sat-nav-tv-anytime-anywhere

The OS looks identical to Zumo 660 3.9

Maybe yet to come???

I think the zumo 665 has some sort of radio (tunes) receiving ability. 550 / 660 etc with traffic capabilty must receive some sort of radio for the traffic info.

The FM reception on my Scala 4 sets is a bit rubbish but I'm wary of spending serious cash on anything that isn't digital, pending the supposed FM switch off.

Like to look of the asda number! Thanks for the tip.

Would love to see pictures of the set-up. Its not cheap and you've mentioned (as does the web-site) the need for an external aerial. Seems like a load more stuff to mount on the bike ? :thumb2

Cheers, Kev

Hi Kev

Will try and get some photos up

Aerial was from Halfords £12, either fix to top box but I had a cool little mount so put it at the front to mount there.

All in all it works very well and looks the part.

Pics at weekend : )
