Hi Garl,

There has been some confusion, however 'Wapping' has now provided confirmation. See the 'post' below :- Blue is +ve.
Hope this helps.

Posts: 14,726 I'm getting a couple of questions about which wire is positive.

I have checked again and it's the blue one.

Other people have commented that their socket has a blue wire and a yellow wire, like the one wires in Tim's picture. That may very well be true. The plug I had from Robin of this parish had a blue wire and a white wire. Or maybe it was just badly faded yellow? Or, as Tim said, maybe BuMW just changed the colour.

Either way it doesn't matter, blue is hot.

Garl - you might be better off buying a spare FPC (about £70) and carrying it on the bike. If the old one goes, its very easy to fit the new one. The bypass is not an ideal solution, esp on a long trip. If you sell the bike and still have the spare FPC, there will be plenty on this forum who will offer you a good price!
