Right, nobody on this side of the forum seems to be running with this, so I'm going to look for your support for a cause close to all of us ...... :aidan

I've put my name down to take part in the Movember:ymca appeal

Unlike many tossers, in 45 years I’ve never had a beard/’tache................ other than when being lazy for a few days, so this could be, eh, interesting.

Info about the concept here http://ie.movember.com/about/

Some other tossers are taking part in the UK – see here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=432

There's also a Cycle for November 50km event being organised for later in the month if you feel like getting physical.

Anyway, here’s the official ‘invite’ to take part/donate on behalf of my efforts - anything you can contribute will be put to very good use in the fight against male cancers, thanks in advance:
This Movember, the month formerly known as November, I’ve decided to donate my face to raising awareness about prostate cancer. My donation and commitment is the growth of a moustache for the entire month of Movember, which I know will generate conversation, controversy and laughter.

The most recent data shows that there were 2,758 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in 2009 in Ireland. Men in Ireland have a one in nine chance of developing prostate cancer during their lifetime. This is a cause that I feel passionately about and I’m asking you to support my efforts by making a donation to Action Prostate Cancer, an initiative of the Irish Cancer Society. To help, you can either:

• Click this link http://ie.movember.com/donate/your-details/member_id/1071240/ and donate online using your credit card or PayPal account . Or,
• Send cheques (made payable to ‘Irish Cancer Society Re Movember’) directly to Irish Cancer Society – 43/45 Northumberland Road, Dublin 4. Be sure to include my name and registration on the back of the cheque.

Action Prostate Cancer will use the money raised by Movember for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer.

To see the impact Movember citizens are already making, please visit http://ie.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs.

Thank you in advance for helping me to support men’s health.

Has this been moved? Wouldn't it be better in the Irish section :nenau
