Just had my 1150 GS (W reg) through its 20000 km (at 12340 miles) service today at Mill (Sunderland) cost £182.65 VAT inc. This included the use of a R 1150 RS as a courtesy bike.

I purchased the GS second hand in June 02 with 8802 miles. I was informed that it requires a speedo cable mod under warranty and that the mod is now on order and they will inform me when it arrives to arrange a fitting date.

Not bad service I think, seeing that the bike must be out of warranty by now as the Pre-delivery Check is dated 8 June 00.

Any comments from you more experienced members would be welcome.

I think it's actually a safety "recall", which the dealers have been told to investigate when bikes come in for service. On some of the earlier 1150's the speedo cable was apt to rub the brake line. It's just a question of replacing the existing grommet with one of a smaller internal diameter, bending the brake pipe slightly, and covering with spiral wrap. If it's already started to wear, they'll replace the brake pipe as well.

My April '01 was done at the 6K service.

Steve.
