Horizons Unlimited Ireland 2011

Down to 50 more sleeps!

(and probably a few sleepless ones for some too!)

We have another presenter! This is becoming a "who's who" of local motorcycle adventurers!

Peter Cullen (petcul of this church) will give a talk entitled

"Anything I can do, you can do better"

I am not sure if he will be conducting the audience in a singalong or showing some of his fantastic photos of his very extensive travels. In either case it will be a "Do Not Miss" talk.

Many of you will know that Oisin Hughes has just released his new book "Not Dead Yet" Oisin's blog on his most recent trip must rank as one of the best ever submitted on UKgser.

You can find details of the book at

at http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225660&page=31

Go back to the first postings on that thread for the blog.

If you want to get a flavour of Oisin's other stories try

Tempus Fugit. So if you haven't already then register at

Really looking forward to this.

finally pulled the finger out and registered and alos put name down to help out

see you then

any cars, trucks, vans, 4X4s going?

Hi PJ

Priority will be given to bikes as you would expect.

However we do have secure parking facilities for cars, 4*4s (but not 40 ft trucks!) and I know of at least one 4*4 booked in.

Let me know what the vehicle is when you register and I am sure we can sort something out.

Liam

Thanx, Liam

I've already registered, have a LandRover rigged to sleep in but may well take the bike/tent.

The final two presentations.

(we have no room left for any more speakers! 17 talks and 3 demonstations will keep you busy. We have to leave some space for eatin', drinkin' and chattin' !!) :natter:natter

Mairaid Hennessy will give "The Pillion's Perspective" on motorbike travelling. A really interesting and much overlooked subject. And a great incentive to bring your significant other ( is that the PC term now for wife/husband/partner/girl/boy friend?) to Enniskillen? You might also learn what all those digs in the ribs mean!!

Drew Millar will describe his journey From Belfast to Cavannacarragh (slowly) Enigmatic title but you will understand if you come to Enniskillen!

Tempus is fugiting and numbers increasing. We will be restricting numbers to ensure an enjoyable and friendly weekend so if you want to be sure of your place, get registering now at

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/meetings/Ireland2011.php#registration

Just riding down for the saturday talks and demos.

Can we just show up at the door?

You guessed it but it'll only happen if you can persuade Flash o' the Gap to accompany me with his banjo:augie

Just riding down for the saturday talks and demos.

Can we just show up at the door?

Alex :nenau

Hi Alex

There will be a VERY limited number of "on the day" places available at the weekend and we would prefer that those be kept free for travellers who are already on the road and are hoping to adjust their route to be in Ennskillen. You will recall last year that we had a number of European travellers turning up and, in fact, the first person to arrive on the Friday was Margaret all the way from Tasmania. She was on the European leg of her RTW, saw the meeting information on the Horizons Unlimited site and rerouted to be with us! No-one wants to be in the position of turning such visitors away just because all places are taken up by "locals" turning up on the day.:hide

We are also very conscious that there is an optimum number that can comfortably be accommodated at the event and it would be unfair to those having the foresight to register to overload the facilities and talks. Being able to give the Cavannacarragh Hall staff a reasonably accurate number for those attending also helps them to adaquately prepare the feast they offered last year!! This, together with the built in dis-incentive of a surcharge of £10 on the day in addition to the normal registration fees, will hopefully ensure that all will register in good time.

WE WILL close registrations when they reach a pre-determined number and therefore getting your name in the hat now makes a lot of sense. No-one wants the embarressment of a "No room at the Inn" greeting on the day!!:nenau

A long answer to a short question but I thought it right to explain the background to the push (pleading!) to register now and not just turn up on the day.

Hope to see you again in Enniskillen.:beerjug:
