Well .........................it was an epic
Normally a Trial consists of 3 laps of 12 sections, maybe 14 at most per lap
Todays was 6 laps of 11 sections per lap - a monumental feat of endurance
Luckily it was dry
It was set on an arable farm, which had a copse/wood inland that was set out as an old style scramble track - would love to watch one there
Main terrain was wooded banks, rocks, tight turns etc..................so although the trial was long - it wasn't particularly arduous - but there were some sections that took marks and I only cleaned 4 out of the 11 sections, every time
Good mix of modern v twinshock and youth v adult - always good to see kids having a go, with their dads, plus a smattering of lady riders
Section 7 was my 'achilles heel' and I smacked my shoulder badly on a tree, best I could manage was a loss of 1 mark, but I had four 3's
Nice Mont 349
Couple of lovely TLR200's, ridden by two 16 year olds, the girl in the forefront is Kate Hunter and is a leading British Youth rider on a 125cc Sherco - the 200cc TLR is her real bike and boy could she ride it, put us men to shame
Nice Honda TL125, in a Sammy Miller HiBoy from - I had a 150cc version in 1977, as my first Trials bike, why did I sell it
Even my Fantic was there, only sold it 7 days ago (luckily he loved it and didn't want his money back)
The Paddock
Section 9 was a bit of so and so...................big rocks
Plucky young lad..........
Section 10 was easier
Section 11 looked easy................but was tricky
Bit of 'Body English'
A clean bike......................at the end
