Hid lights

Hi
Has anyone fitted a Hid conversion to their f650gs single, and fitted a switch so the lights would be off while starting engine, as according to some manufactures, to prolong the life of the HID, Switch the lights on only after the engine has started.

Old 650 single. Nope no switch, used one of Les Wassels H4 kits and this comes on in the same way the original halogen. No mention of installing a switch in the kit and I don't see a need personally. Perhaps Les could confirm.

The headlight comes on with the ignition. At the moment the starter button is pressed a solinoid turns off the headlight untill the bike is running and you remove your finger from the button.

No need for a switch.
