....on my way to work in Norwich along the A146 I nod at a bike coming the other way and am summarily ignored just as I realise its the same miserable git on a red 1200 GS, wearing a black and Hi-viz jacket that ignores me every day.

If it's you, I just wanted to say, "cheer up son!". Or get a car.

Just wave at him in a friendly way. If he waves back then fine, if not then don't stress about it, he's probably a serial killer or someone from the IAM and you wouldn't want to be associated with either.

It's not just 1200 owners - I regularly pass a silver 1150 in full pannier mode on my B1108 commute and he ignores me completely. I've seen a few 1200GS's over the years and, apart from one notable exception of a guy trying to stay out of the bushes after overcooking a corner, they've all nodded.

I often wonder what that guy has in all those cubic meters of hard storage. Cheese on mighty white and a wagon wheel I expect.

What i want to know is why everyone seems to nod at me (even on the opposite side of a dual carriageway, whats that all about!!) when im on my 800 but i am sumarily ignored when im on my old 600cc suzuki DR thumper?

And actually on my way to work its the same people i see every day, nod when im on the BM and ignore when im on old Gunter :nenau
