Hello
I'm looking to organise our clubs summer trip 2012 and we were thinking of visiting Wales for a long weekend.
The general outline is we intend to get the Dublin / Holyhead ferry on a Friday morning then ride to a hotel for 3 nights and ride out each day.
Suggestions on location , hotel's and routes would be a great help.

Cheers :beerjug:

How many people?

I could suggest a few pubs with bunkhouses & camping but they wouldn't be any good if there is more than 20-30 of you.

Thanks for posting back, 15 - 20 bikes looking for hotel or b+b mate

A good base would be Rhayadar in the heart of Wales, heres the center -- http://www.powys.gov.uk/index.php?id=2411&L=0
Lots and lots of B&B's, you should get in one or two B&B together and theres a good curry house too :D
Reallly good camping 5 mins from all the pubs by a river!

From here you can get to anywhere in Wales, will not go wrong as EVERY road from here WILL be superb. If you PM me I will give you some mapsource routes or you coud just look up 'my posts' and pick through em, which will save me 10 mins :augie :D
Enjoy the research, you lazy fecker :aidan OH and welcome to :dragon:dragon

Thanks for the info mate, i trust local knowlage as opposed to going wrong on the tinternet.

Right. This place between Crickhowell & Talgarth is sometimes used by Welsh UKGSers for a bit of male bonding. It has B&B, bunkhouse & camping.

I've used this place with a national club. It's in Talybont on Usk. There are B&B and camping in the village too.

This place has been used for UKGSer weekends

A decent hotel with spa facilities http://www.metropole.co.uk/

A hotel just across the border in Hereofrd http://greendragon-hereford.co.uk/
(don't ignore the Welsh Marches area, some fab roads and usually quieter than the touristy parts of Wales)

Should keep you busy with your research.
