Actually, we'd have got through if it hadn't have been for that McSharry tosser wanting to stop and get his Box Brownie out!

Just returned from a 3,600 mile round trip to Budapest & back via Strasbourg, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy & the French Alps.

It's not really that different to travelling anywhere else in Europe these days. Took 1100 photos, just finished uploading a large portion of them on to Smugmug. I'll be posting a Ride Report on the Adventure Riders site & will post a link here.

Romania etc

cracking place - if you want to have a chat about that part of the world and pick up some useful addresses for hungary, romania, serbia...give me a shout and come up for a beer - only live just north of bakewell.

Greg

Did you cross near Opava?

Been to the Czech Republic quite a few times since 1986... love the country and have had no great problems with the food.... (!)

Away from the two mainmotorways and in the country there are loads of little villages and small towns where the natives speak no english and where you can not belive how cheap everything is. It won't last much longer now that they are in the EU....

Get a decent map, Michelin is okay, but ignore the lack of "green lines" alongside the roads. The lazy arses from Michelin haven't been t have alook!
