Honda XL 600 R

Ive been offered a XL 600R by a workmate (known him for 20+ years and know hes owned the bike for 3yrs and who he bought it from so its cotia !)
Its a 1984 (I think) with about 20000m, needs a 'bit of work' - its been stored for 2 years - so its SORN - wants a clear out, wants £600 min. My question is this a fair price and does anyone know what these are worth (ball park) I can easily go and see it locally. Quite fancy one for fun !!

sounds ok to me but without seeing it its difficult to say .
its easy to spend money on cheap bikes . £500 is easily spent on tyres ect
