Somewhat dimly I didn't specify a DVD drive on this new Dell pc and am wondering, if I buy a drive, how easy they are to install?

Also, which drive might be best so that I can chop & change between various regions of DVD?

Cheers mates

installing advd

should be no problem..

but it depends on how pc friendly u are..

have you ever taken apart a pc?

do you know what the inside look like and roughly what they do?

any good with a screwdriver?

if you can say yes to these then it should be no problem..

have a look at www.scan.co.uk for prices and parts

eg LG DVD ROM Drives £32.31 sterling plus delivery..

there are better ones as well..

anyway you plugs in the unit.. 2 leads, one for power and one cionnects to the motherboard..

you install teh drivers.. they should be on disk cause the cd wont work untill u install them.. catch 22.. or else you can have normal cd player and dvd player as well, if your pc has spare slot to put in unit.. if its a dell it should be ok..

i have a dell witha dvd player and a cd writer and it ahs the correct cables in side.. so u should be ok, anyway its no problem getting extras if you need them..

hope this helps..

oh as for region 1 2 3 4 etc players..

there is different softeware out there to do this..

again depends on the unit u have.. i will check out some sites and get back to you

email me at pthagonal@oceanfree.net if you have any questions
