Grand Opening of The Adventure Bike Shop, Acton, Suffolk

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the assistance. I will hopefully get Cliff to put up extra signage on the open days just to make sure everyone finds their way to the bacon rolls!

Regards,

Matt

Hi folks,

Just to remind you that the opening weekend is still very much on, and if you go to www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk you can see the funky new frontage the unit now has. :thumb

This weekend Sarah and I will be helping Cliff and Jenny with the London Motorcycle Show where they have a stand. If anyone is going along please drop in and say hello. Cliff is also at the Ace on the 19th, so he is a busy boy in February!

See you soon,

Matt

Hi All,

Only a few days to go now,we'll be helping Cliff out by grafting away in the kitchen keeping the teas/coffees and bacon rolls going so please come along and keep us busy.

And of course all that lovely bike bling,

Look forward to seeing you there,

Mark.

Hi folks,

It was great to see so many people today, including some hardy souls on bikes. We will be there again tomorrow from 10am until 5pm, so please pop in for a coffee and a bacon / sausage roll. No high pressure sales, just somewhere warm and friendly to have a chat.

I can confirm that the Redverz tent (was Nomad) is on display and I will be buying one after seeing it there! There are a another couple of tents, Jesse panniers on an F650GS and Tiger 800, Givi Trekkers, Klim clothing (another imminent purchase for me), Rok Straps, Wolfman, Ventura...

Thanks for those who visited today, and I look forward to seeing some more tomorrow. I will get some shots of the inside of the unit in the morning if I get time between customers!

Matt

Hi folks,

It was a fun weekend, and although the weather was not kind we still had a pretty decent turn-out with lots of happy punters. Here are a few more photos of the weekend...

Another view of some of the bikes that turned up in sub zero temps...

Another nice pair of Yams. There were a lot of them about!

A warm welcome awaited people when they arrived over the weekend. Tea, coffee, bacon rolls, biscuits...

The main man, Cliff, waxing lyrical about his products. Nice "Lemmy" facial hair too, huh?
ABS2.jpg

Some people having a coffee and looking at the range of Klim gear on display, Proving very popular...
ABS1.jpg

A view across the shop showing some of the Touratech offerings as well as a Tiger 800 and F650GS with Jesse panniers, Famsa tank sets etc. Lots of Wolfman and Ventura stuff too...
ABS4.jpg

Cliff built this upper level just to have the space to show tents. A great idea, with several people buying the Redverz (was Nomad) tents this weekend... including me!
ABS7.jpg

The vast vestibule area of the Redverz tent. Plenty of room to have a table and 4 chairs in there, and over 6 feet tall too...
ABS8.jpg

The front view of the Redverz, with a packed version on the floor. about 6 kilos packed, and compact too. Not the lightest but a VAST tent for the pack size...
ABS9.jpg

Here I am passing the time with a couple of friends / customers. Lots of goodies on the wall as well as on the bikes, with more to come...

I will be helping Cliff out some weekends through the year, especially when he needs to be out of town at trade shows. I will then get to play at shopkeeper. The place is currently open Tuesday to Saturday, but I think this will change to include Sundays too very shortly as there is a bike cafe about 100 yards away that is rammed in the warmer months...

If you want to know anything else check the web site http://www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk, and this will be updated very soon and have a new look too. How do I know? I have volunteered to help!!

Regards,

Matt

I wish I'd washed me car now. Looks a bit grubby in the pic. :blast

Hi gents,

It was great to see you both at the weekend. Apologies for the car looking grubby in the photo. :D

There will be another Sunday event in March, initially for the BMW Club but all will be welcome. More bacon butties and coffee will be available, of course. :thumb

Thanks for that, Dave. Cliff is a real grafter and I just want to be able to help him on his way. I am just doing what I hope most people would offer to do. :thumb

Hope to see you soon.

A good ride out today , decided to go to the new Adventure bike shop .
Lots of goodies on offer , good job i never bought on line as the tankbag i've had my eye on was no good for the X-Country but with Cliffs knowledge and the chance to try on the bike first a top notch bag was purchased .
Thanks Cliff and good luck with your new venture .:)

Hi Folks, Thanks for all your support and good wishes, I don't know whether we have taken our eye off the ball or its just that the economy is bad at the moment but sales of the Jesse luggage are below last year and where I expected them to be so I need to do something to get the sales going, so I have decided to discount the Jesse Luggage panniers and top boxes for the month of April.
I will be offering a discount of 15% on pannier sets and top boxes, subject to stock, by this I mean I have 3 sets of Odyssey II panniers in stock in Silver for the R1200GS, 2 sets be available at the 15% discount for the month of April but once those two sets have sold that will be the end of the discount on that particular set, I may still be offering the discount on them in black or charcoal or in the Safari pannier. Give me a call if you are interested in some Jesse Panniers at a knock down price.
I have a special offer on my website for the Quick Click Safari panniers as well, This is a free top box with mounts, obviously I will not be taking a further 15 % of the price of these.
