Routes tidied-up and a couple of thoughts.

    Hello everyone.

This morning I have tidied up the routes a bit and put them into the latest version of Garmin maps.

    ============

On the first day, we have the usual problem of losing an hour and finding somewhere for lunch. Normally I would say bring a picnic, which usually works well but I have half an eye on the weather at this time of year.

What I think might work is have a late lunch in Samer. I might just bring a sandwich or something to stuff down my neck when we stop for a mid-morning coffee, earlier.

On the second day, I sort of favour the 'down to Peronne and up' alternative, with maybe a coffee stop in Doullens on the way. Then on the return leg, a stop for coffee at the cafe at Wierre Efroy. We can see what it's like on the day etc. etc.

    Richard

    Hi Lad's,

Arrived in Belgium last night from Ireland and just rang the hotel, they are fully booked. So if anyone booked a twin and does not mind sharing PM me.

Alternativly if anyone cannot make it I will happily take their room.. PM me...

Thanks would be good to meet up, but no room equals no go

Looks like the hotel is full.

But, I'll contact them tomorrow to see if I can sort somthing out for you, Richie. I have a bod coming from another site, who has a single but will share if I can find a twin instead. There is another hotel in Argoules, which can't be far away, have you tried that?

In the meantime I have set the routes out in Excel and will post them up here tomorrow. I aso spotted a small glitch in one of the routes, which I have corrected, too.

Thanks for that, I did find another hotel only 1 mile away but did not ring. If I can get a room share that will be great.

Here are the two days' suggested routes in Excel:

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14126843/Ear...rch%202012.xls

and the two tidied up routes:

The two small glitches were ones I was aware of and had meant to correct:

    (1) Leaving Peronne, it's the right turn to Biaches on the D1. You can take the earlier local road along the side of the lake, joining the D1 one after about a mile but it's easier to take the proper right turn on to the D1 itself.

    (2) A small glitch between Belle et Houllefort and Wierre Effroy, where Gamin routes you down a silly little road, just to cut a corner. I usually ignore it but have now corrected it once and for all.
